  • Development & Marketing Manager

    Reports to:    Director of Development

    Status:            Full-Time, Exempt

    Location:        Dallas, Texas

     

    The Opportunity

    Hope Cottage is seeking a creative, mission-driven Development & Marketing Manager to build community and financial support for the daily work of our team in the field. This role plays a critical part in developing, managing, and executing the daily development and marketing tasks to support vulnerable women, children, and families in Dallas.

    Reporting to the Director of Development (DOD), the Development & Marketing Manager collaborates across departments to ensure Hope Cottage's mission and values are communicated clearly and effectively to inspire and raise support through multi-channel development and marketing efforts.

    What You'll Do:

    As a Development & Marketing Manager, you will provide direct support to the Director of Development with the main duties of managing the grant pipeline, social media strategy, and creating graphics.

     

    Responsibilities

    ·        Manage the grant pipeline, including research, writing, reporting, and cultivating new and existing grantor relationships

    ·        Manage social media strategy

    ·        In collaboration with the DOD, designing graphics for donor and marketing communications

    ·        Manage volunteer opportunities, including logistics and communications

    ·        Donor database maintenance

    ·        Contribute creative ideas and strategic insights to improve fundraising outcomes

    ·        Support donor cultivation strategy

    ·        Research prospective corporations and foundations

    ·        Other duties as assigned

    ·        Supports other departments as needed in support of Hope Cottage’s mission.

    ·        Maintains confidentiality of donor and client information 100% of the time.

    ·        Brings problems to the attention of the supervisor; is willing to ask for help.

    ·        Forms strong working relationships within Hope Cottage and treats others with respect.

    ·        Ensures compliance with all organization policies, guidelines, and procedures.

    ·        Maintains a neat and clean appearance, always.

     

    What We’re Looking For:
    We're seeking a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

     

    Experience: 3-7 years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, and/or design

    Education: Bachelor’s degree

    Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to prepare, produce, and deliver information via various communication channels. Creative thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    Relational Skills: High degree of professionalism, sensitivity, and integrity; enjoys researching, cultivating, and growing foundation relationships, building cross-departmental partnerships to support development tasks

    Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Graphic design expertise is required. (Canva preferred). Knowledge of donor database software and grant tracking systems preferred, i.e. Virtuous and Monday.com.

    Additional Qualities to excel in this position:

    ·        Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

    ·        Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising principles.

    ·        Work effectively in a fast-paced, open, and supportive team environment

    ·        Possesses sound judgment and maintains a calm demeanor to help troubleshoot issues when they arise.

  • Counseling Interns adapt and practice counseling skills and techniques by conducting group and individual sessions with clients in the following programs:

    • Parenting education and support

    • Foster care services

    • Post adoption

    • Infant adoption

    The ideal candidate will have an interest in counseling clients in a variety of settings and situations, a willingness to grow and learn through new challenges, and an ability to work well independently. Please note that we require Spanish-fluency for all candidates in order to receive consideration for an interview.

  • BSW and MSW Students Interns adapt and practice social work skills and techniques by working with case managers and program coordinators in one of these programs:

    • Parenting Support & Education

    • Foster care services

    • Infant adoption

    Depending on the program, interns will assist with service planning, assessment tools, resource assistance, data entry, case management, outreach and educational activities and more. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with children and families, a willingness to grow and learn through new challenges, and an ability to work well independently.
