Hope Cottage currently is seeking Bilingual (Spanish) staff to provide parenting education and support to clients in the DFW area.
Open Position Summary: Provides life skills training and positive parenting education to pregnant and parenting families. Assesses client needs and creates service plans for assigned individuals and families. This position maintains professional relationships with assigned community agencies and promotes Hope Cottage services. Work schedule is Monday through Friday.
Minimum Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in human services field preferred. Social work degree a plus. This is an entry level position.
Required Experience: At least one year experience providing direct client support. Internship experience may be considered.
Other requirements:
Bilingual in Spanish with preference for bi-cultural. Must be self-directed and self-motivated and able to function effectively with minimal supervision. Should be comfortable making presentations and leading training for small groups. Must be thorough, timely and accurate in documentation.
Must be 21 and able to travel between various service sites in the Metroplex. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance and have regular access to a reliable automobile for use on agency business. Travel is reimbursed at the current federal rate per mile.
This is a full time position with benefits. The agency provides 3 weeks of paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, and sick leave. Hope Cottage provides paid term life insurance and long term disability and subsidized health insurance. Other voluntary benefits are available. The beginning salary range is $19- $19.50 per hour based on experience.

Counseling Interns adapt and practice counseling skills and techniques by conducting group and individual sessions with clients in the following programs:
Parenting education and support
Foster care services
Post adoption
Infant adoption
The ideal candidate will have an interest in counseling clients in a variety of settings and situations, a willingness to grow and learn through new challenges, and an ability to work well independently. Please note that we require Spanish-fluency for all candidates in order to receive consideration for an interview.
