It's Twins for First Embryo Adoption Family

March 04, 2009

Of the ten families who have entered the Embryo Adoption Program at Hope Cottage,  Eric and Laura, were the first to deliver.

In March of 2007, Eric and Laura were selected by an Hispanic couple from El Paso who had six embryos left after completing their own family through In Vitro fertilization. They adopted all six embryos, and after thawing four of them, three were able to be implanted. Happily, Eric and Laura were told that two of the embryos successfully attached and they were pregnant with twins!

The Embryo adoption program at Hope Cottage provides the required home study and post-birth supervision for these adoptions. Our partner agency, Nightlight Christian Adoptions, coordinates the adoption from genetic parents who have already built their families and who have unused embryos they choose to offer to adoptive couples.
