Hope Cottage beneficiary of Slipper Club's 11th annual gala
May 24, 2007
Slipper Club, Dallas’ oldest women’s social club, presented Hope Cottage Pregnancy and Adoption Center with a $50,100 donation as the beneficiary of its 11th annual gala.
The donation will be used to fund Hope Cottage’s new Foster-to-Adopt program. This program recruits adoption-motivated families to provide loving homes for children who are in the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to abuse and neglect.
Slipper Club is an organization dedicated to serving women, serving the community and making a difference. Founded in 1934 by four Idlewild débutantes, today the club has grown to more than 400 active members. While still committed to its founders' vision of fostering lasting relationships, Slipper Club has expanded its mission to include community service and charitable giving programs.
To date, Slipper Club has raised more than $195,000 for local nonprofit organizations and charitable agencies. Each year the club researches and selects a different charity to support, always an organization that serves women or children in the Dallas area.
