Music and Doggies and Babies – Oh My!

Hope Babies 1932-2012

Yesterday was the Annual Hope Cottage Founder’s Day Picnic – a decades old tradition for Hope Cottage Families.  The weather cooperated with a cloud cover and a nice breeze while Hope Babies ranging in ages of six months to eighty years “came home”.

“Most Senior Hope Baby” in attendance was Jack Terry.  He and his wife Glenda drove down from Oklahoma especially for the event.  The Terrys are pictured below with Tom Cain, longtime Hope Cottage Supporter and our Most Senior Volunteer.  Mr. Cain remembers, as a young boy, riding with his mother, first in a horse drawn wagon and then later in a car as she picked up babies and brought them to Hope Cottage to await placement with their forever families.  There is a very good chance that Mr. Terry was rocked by Mr. Cain’s mother  during his stay Hope Cottage.

After two short hours, everyone headed home.  It is always wonderful being able to spend time with our Hope Families.  Until the Holiday Reunion Party on December 2nd- in the words of two of Hope Cottage’s  adoptive parents, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans…
