Melissa and Eric

We are Eric and Melissa, and we are patiently awaiting the opportunity to adopt a child that we can bring into our family to love and support throughout his or her life. We hope that as you view our profile you can learn something about us and our desire to complete our family with a child that we know will be a special blessing.

You will see in our profile that we have a biological son, Wyatt. He was truly a miracle baby and we were advised that another pregnancy could be very risky. We have always wanted two children, and always wanted to consider adoption, so we made the choice and feel strongly that when the time is right a connection will happen.

We have been married for 15 years and feel the keys to a successful marriage are openness and honesty. We are certainly “open” to open adoption; we feel that an adopted child should grow up knowing and being proud of his or her history. We would work to find ways to help our child feel connected to all of the important people, places, and cultures that are a part of his or her life.

Wyatt is so looking forward to having a brother or sister. He is outgoing, smart, and loving – and prays every night for our adoption to take place. Our family likes to travel and explore new places. We also have 10 nieces and nephews, so there are lots of children in the family to make gatherings fun! Spending time with family and friends is important to us.

Our home is in a quiet, country neighborhood, and we have good neighbors that look out for each other. You can ride your bike around the block without even seeing a vehicle coming down the road! We feel that we live in a great area for kids to grow up in – room to roam, other kids, pets, and even wildlife.

We like outdoor activities such as fishing, water skiing, and baseball. Melissa also enjoys decorating the interior of our home. She works part-time and eventually plans to quit work outside the home to spend even more time taking care of the family. We are very thankful for that opportunity. Eric is a civil engineer who owns his own business, and we are very thankful for his success as well.

We mentioned some of the things we enjoy, value, and love as a family – friends, family, travel, outdoors – but we also love holidays, our church, a variety of music, anything about Texas, and our dog Catch and cat Jerry.
